FAQ – Scars after Breast surgery Orlando, FL

FAQ – Scars after Breast surgery

I am fair skinned. I have widened thin scars on my breast after my breast lift.
Widened thin scars are often called atrophic scars. On the breast these are best taken care of with scar revision. Special suturing is used to relieve tension on the breast scars. A push up bra is used to decrease tension on the incision along with special wound dressings which also alleviate tension.
I had breast reduction surgery and developed large keloids.
Patients of darker skin types who undergo breast reduction surgery are more prone to forming keloids. These individuals can also form hypertrophic scars. If it is a keloid the most resourceful treatment regimen at IKASC is superficial radiation therapy and precision surgery.
My breast lift scars are raised and thick, it’s been a year and a half since my surgery.
At IKASC Dr. Spence has found that early scarring will respond to injections and laser. As time goes by the scar may become more resistant and this requires surgery and laser in combination to achieve a great result.
My breast reduction scars are raised and thick. I am four months out from surgery.
At four months out from surgery IKASC surgeon Dr. Spence uses a combination of injections and lasers to achieve a flattened scar.
I had an infection after breast reduction surgery and they had to remove more tissue, now I have terrible scars and lopsided breasts. Can anything be done for this?
Yes this can be addressed, first by getting the volume of the breast symmetric either by fat grafting or reduction, then by revising the scars with the addition of lasers and injections for scar improvement.
Only one part of my breast lift scar is raised, what can I do about this?
The raised segment can be treated with injections and laser to allow the scar to flatten.
My breast augmentation scar is quite raised and thick they are visible when I lie on my back.
Breast augmentation scars can be treated with lasers and injections just as any with breast scars can. They may take more than one treatment, and precautions are taken not to injure the implants during the injections.
